Ocean’s Breath - Prologue

Listen to the eternal rhythm of ocean waves rolling in the shore one after the other. The rhythm of your breath, changes. Brisk winds seem to ride the waves of the pacific ocean that ends along the Washington coastline. You are fully alive and know this moment is the treasure you came to find. Whether sunny, misty, or raining, you can still sense the ancient in the ocean itself. Pebbles from far off lands travel with the currents and end up in places like Ruby Beach, Moclips, or Ocean Shores. The song’s title “Ocean’s Breath”came from my co-worker Lynne Roberts, who stated: “The ocean is a living thing, it breathes”. I believe the Ocean is alive. It so generously breathes new life in us all.

Sandpipers race, across the shore
Crashing waves forevermore
Sun spilling down from the sky
Alone here you and I

Sundials in the sand
Pebbles from another land
Seagulls soaring on ocean breeze
Driftwood, seashells - to see

Hand in hand, along the beach
Starfish seen within our reach
Beauty for us to behold
We leave the starfish alone

Sea stacks rise from ocean's floor
Home to otters and Douglas fir
